Judy Ann and Ryan Did What?

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

We were having dinner when DH told me that Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo tied the knot this morning. It’s not that he is a showbiz-person. He said that he saw it on TV during their workshop in one of the restaurants here. I was surprised but it’s expected since they’ve been talking about it in the past months.

I am not very impressed with majority of our local stars these days but I admire this couple. They’re both respected in the biz because of their talent but they chose to have a simple, quiet and private wedding. They’re big stars and yet they preferred to begin the first day of the rest of their lives away from the media and the public.

Anyway, Judy and Ryan’s wedding was held in San Juan Nepomuceno Batangas at the beginning of this day. It was officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag. Agot Isidro sung “Runaway” while Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez sung “The Prayer”. Sharon Cuneta, the megastar, was the matron of honor while Ryan’s brother, Dondi, stood as the best man. The principal sponsors include -- Mon Isberto, Smart Communications spokesman – Mon Isberto; Bien Bautista, Ace photographer; Benjie Gonzales - Ryan's uncle from the US; Susie Entrata-Abrera, TV Host; Rory Quintos, TV & Movie Director; and Jane Buencamino, Judy Ann's road manager. The couple and their guests are said to be headed to an undisclosed resort as of press time.

I am not a fan but Judy Ann is sooo gorgeous in her wedding photos! And Ryan was dashing too! Love can indeed make us glow!

DSC00119I am being sentimental these past weeks. Mainly because of the many developments in the life of my little girl. On her graduation night, her first milk tooth fell off to give way to her erupting first permanent tooth. During our third night at the hospital, another tooth gave way to her second permanent tooth. Now, I can see another tooth peeking and waiting for it’s turn to see the light.

Aside from that, have I mentioned that she already graduated from Kindergarten? I will have a grade schooler come June 2009 and it makes me feel sad. Not because I am growing old (I have no issues about aging, but I don’t want to think and worry about social security disability stuff.Yet.) but it’s because my girl is growing up so fast, I can’t seem to catch up! I may not notice it but she will be graduating from grade school, then high school, celebrate her 18th birthday, tell me about her crushes, etc. etc.

I do miss those old days when she was younger and very dependent on me. I can’t stop the time. But no matter how old she is, she will always be my little girl, my baby.

This Face

One thing that I am not endowed with is a flawless face. It’s not that I am complaining ha. I am happy with this face but when THAT time of the month is near, there’s no way of stopping my breakouts! Most of the time, one or two choose to grow atop my big nose. *gasp*  Those are my Rudolph-the-Red-Nosed-Reindeer-moments. It’s funny, I know, but can also be very irritating. Good thing they don’t grow sooo big and multiply that I would be needing treatment for acne. And it’s a good thing that they eventually disappear in a week or so. It

‘s tough being a girl but I would not trade it for anything in the world!

Read My Mind

Sunday, April 26, 2009

I’m tired of: being sickly.
I am listening to: the news on TV.
Maybe I should: try to sleep early so I can get up early.
I Wish: for world peace. :D
Chocolate is: one of my most favorite foods.
I last ate: the feast prepared for my youngest brother’s birthday.

Right now I'm craving: for potato chips.
Love is: a wonderful thing. It makes someone do things which you think are difficult and tough to do like forgive.
Today: I bugged DH about our outdoor lighting which needs to be replaced.
Tomorrow: I will discuss the possibility of launching a voters’ education program at the university with a colleague.

Another Wish Came True!

One of the many things that I am grateful about is my set of online friends. They are my set of “kabarkada” who are always there even if I have not met most of them yet. We can talk and discuss about anything and everything, mostly women and mommy stuff. We share the same passions: scrapbooking, photography and being the best moms and wives to our respective kids and husbands. We’re all women so topics like make-up, shopping, sexy lingerie, romantic novels and books also come out.

In them, I have the best and most efficient consultants in the world. A month ago, I needed advice and guidance on what lens to buy (though I am already eyeing something). The decision must be made 30 or so minutes. Don’t ask me why. Haha! I logged on Twitter (our usual hang-out), asked for their opinions and in no time, made a decision and had my money sent for the purchase. A very, very good friend bought the lens plus a remote control for me. He arrived home last Black Friday and handed me these:

02 An AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens and a Nikon remote control! Woot! Diane is sooo right, I am very much enjoy using this lens. And with the remote? “We can now have family pictures!” according to DD. Haha! Thanks to my girl friends and to Kuya Ric and of course to DH for being so supportive of this vice, errr, hobby of mine. ;)

Here’s a sample shot featuring my cousin’s DS who came to visit us last night. (Love the depth of field!)

Good thing he’s still small and does not mind being photographed unlike his older sister and DD who used to be so obedient and pose whenever I asked them. They’re growing up fast and now start to hate the cam. Hay.

And this new lens made me take this shot:

I see you! ;)

MIA for a While

More serious than my Internet connection problem is the confinement of my DD at the hospital since Tuesday last week. She had been suffering from fever and cough since Good Friday. I will spare you the details for now. The worst is over, I think. I am just grateful to know that a lot of people loves and cares for my little girl, aside from our extended families. Some of them even came almost every night since we got here and entertained the sick girl. Their mere presence also detracted me from worrying about her and our hospital bills.

I can say that one good thing about this whole experience is that my about-to-expire-because-of-non-usage membership cards to pharmacies were finally put into good use. But I hope that her pedia will finally say what we’ve been wanting to hear – that she is good enough to go home. I’m keeping my fingers (and even toes) crossed.

2nd Day

Monday, April 6, 2009

It’s been a while! Someone has been lazy (AGAIN!) to update. Haha! If you’ve *seen* me online at Facebook, that was not me. It’s either DH playing his war games or DD, doing her rounds on Pet Society. There’s more to life than just blogging, you know. :D But of course, I can’t let go of blogging. It’s a part of my life!

Anyways, it’s the second day of week-long break. So far, I’ve managed to somehow clean up some parts of our small house. That’s after entertaining two visitors. Haha! They’re like family so they did not mind how the house looks like with all the mess. :D We’ve not seen each other for months and even if they’re like ten years younger than me, we seem to understand each other and have common interests like student development, youth formation, community service, photography and even finding the best weight loss supplements. One of them already left for Manila yesterday to prepare for her journey to Dubai. The other one, a favorite cousin, actually, hoped to visit me again today but since I read his message late, I was not able to inform him that we are around and he can surely come and see us. Oh well, we have until Friday to chat and eat and just spend time together. He will be going back to Manila on Saturday and I will be seeing him again in the coming months if his work permits.
