A Thanksgiving is incomplete without a delicious large turkey in the middle of the dining table. Just the sight of a delicious looking turkey is enough to complete the day of Thanksgiving. But cooking a turkey is not something everyone will be accustomed to. Going to an expensive restaurant for which the bread earner of the family would have to go for a payday loans or credit card debt, is not feasible. Hence learning to cook a turkey is the only option that you have on a day of Thanksgiving.
There are hundreds of recipes to cook a turkey easily available in books, on the web or with your friends and relatives. You can choose the one which suits you best and practice it with a chicken once or twice before you apply that technique on to a turkey. Brining a turkey is important a day before or a few hours before actual cooking, so that the turkey remains soft, absorbs the flavors and the proteins break up to give you a delicious and tender turkey. There are different kinds of turkey brinings which range in the flavorings used, to the time required. Turkey is brined in a refrigerator, hence you need to remember what size turkey are your purchasing and if the vessel in which you keep your turkey fits in your refrigerator. As for the main part of actually cooking the turkey, deciding the kind you will like is a tough decision. Some of the most popular recipes for a Thanksgiving turkey are the Rosemary roasted turkey, simple roasted turkey, turkey in a bag, turkey in a smoker, deep fried turkey, grilled whole turkey, classic stuffed turkey, Greek tradition turkey, barbeque turkey and many others. Decide the recipe of turkey based on the equipment you have, the ingredients you can manage and the time that you have to utilize for cooking.

Thanksgiving Turkey Instead of Payday Loans
What She Wants to Become
While my daughter and I were having our snacks at the mall yesterday, I can’t help but listen to a conversation of some high school students who were seated adjacent to our table. From what I gathered, they are graduating soon and have expressed sadness over parting ways. However, they are all excited to pursue their dreams. One wants to become nurse, while another one will pursue a degree in business because she wishes to start her own business someday. One hopes to become an engineer. They all laughed when one shared that she wants to become a cosmetologist. But they all fell silent when she concluded her statement with this: “A cosmetologist who will graduate from a beauty school in Phoenix.” It seems that this young girl has heard of Regency, the best institution when it comes to beauty education in the US.
We left the place ahead of this rambunctious group with a hope that these young people will really work and study hard to pursue their dreams and be one of the best in their chosen field.

Keeping Holiday Spending in Check
Here we are, teetering on the edge of the holiday free for all . . . oh, wait, it isn't free for anybody. It's more like the splurge for all, where everybody seems bent on doing as much buying as they possibly can before they go bankrupt. It's almost like they should be calling this the holiday "insanity season." People beat each other up in the middle of store aisles because the last whatever that will give someone a little bit of happiness for five minutes is right there and on sale for a little bit less than it would have cost a week or two earlier. Like that makes anything okay.
If you are planning on blowing most of what you've saved up all year (including your emergency savings), keep in mind that Murphy's Law is always in effect. If something can go wrong, it is just bound to go wrong right at the worst possible time. Your car won't break down when you're giving a mechanic friend a ride. But the moment you spend until your account has about three bucks in it, you are going to limp your car out of the parking lot and have it not start when you get back home. This is just the way things usually work out.
It's true, we do have some neat websites like PayDayOne.com to help bail us out like little executives. But it is not a good idea for anyone to go around "poking the bear" by spending everything they have, and then just expect to borrow their way out of it later on. That kind of thinking sounds a lot like how we got into a recession in the first place- like we need to have some kind of a recession to get any kind of common sense through our thick skulls. Spend with a little reason, and watch as your new year gets happier.
Comic Book Movies to Entertain Fans
For little boys and little boys now living in a man’s body, this has to be the golden age of cinema. More comic book and big action movies than ever before are making their way to the big screen and the results have been better than expected.
The renaissance might have started with the release of the first Spiderman movie in 2002. Spiderman went with the tradition started by Richard Donner who directed the first comic book movie blockbuster. Donner’s Superman decided to treat the material as something other than the campy trash that usually made it to the big screen. Comic book movies had been turned into something nearly indescribable by the Batman television series of the 1960s. A mix of camp and lame jokes, Adam West as Batman set back comic book adaptations for years.
After Donner’s Superman the industry seemed to return to the camp of West’s portrayal of Batman. George Clooney issued a public apology for his effort as the Caped Crusader as his turn behind the cowl in the movie Batman and Robin might be one of the worst American films ever made.
Although the series had no where to go but up, Christopher Nolan’s vision provided the character of Batman with not only a brilliant film but also a radical departure from previous film adaptations. Batman Begins was a fine film, but the Dark Knight took comic book movies to an entirely different level. The Dark Knight won an Academy Award and even earned some serious consideration for Best Picture.
With adaptations of characters including Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America on the horizon, comic book fans can only hope that the films follow in the path of the Dark Knight. Top affiliate programs can message the amount of interest in these movies, but the buzz from fans is that the comic books movies will bring out the diehards — probably more than once

2. I haven’t sent anyone to be
sacked out on the couch. (Yet.)
3. This is going to be one of the most memorable Decembers ever.
4. The city has started to decorate for the holidays.
5. Oh, man, thankfully it's a long weekend.
6. Practicing perfect the art of anything.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to being productive, tomorrow my plans include finishing ALL my online tasks (keeping my fingers crossed here) and attending the anticipated Mass at 6 PM and Sunday, I want to go on a date with the Husband!
Hair Loss Help
Early this year, my friend noticed my massive hair loss and expressed concern. This led me to searching for the best hair loss shampoo. I tried some local brands but they did not help. It is a good thing that I chanced upon a blog post that recommended Biotin-enriched shampoo and conditioner from the US but are locally available at a health shop here. I have been using them for four months now and I am impressed with the result.
This is one of the reasons why I am appreciative of the Internet. It makes useful information and timely help available when needed.

Holiday Shopping is a Funny Thing...
I'm pretty sure I'm with a lot of other people when I say I love to shop for presents online. In fact, I also love to shop online for things that aren't presents. And I also love to shop for things, presents or not, in the real world. There are presents for friends, presents for family, presents for people I really shouldn't be buying presents for, presents for myself - it's all in good fun. Today, though, I found myself ogling Tacori engagement rings. Ladies and gentlemen, I am not engaged. No one I know is getting engaged. Engagement rings are only for engagements, but somehow I couldn't resist. I was just looking because they were just so shiny and so pretty. They're also so very indicative that this money burning hobby of mine has got to stop. Still, those rings were pretty fantastic.
Although I don't buy most of the stuff I look at, even though we're still within budget (and will stay within budget) for this Christmas, it makes me wonder about myself. Why am I spending this time window shopping instead of bonding with my kids? I saw a documentary a long time ago, about how people buy tons and tons of stuff that they don't need, and how it ultimately tears families apart. That, as I said, was quite a long time ago, but I wonder if I need to dig it out and watch it again. I am not my stuff. We, my family and I, are not our stuff. We are not even the things we give away. We are the things we do with our time, and especially the acts of care we perform. And that's something so shiny and fantastic you can never find it anywhere online.

Let’s Party!
Feeling a little bit homesick last night, I buzzed an old friend who was online on Facebook. Much of our conversation revolved around the upcoming birthday party of her third child who is my godson. In contrast to what I initially told her, we might be able to attend the party after all. This got her all excited since I haven’t met this godson of mine since he was born and to think he will be turning two next month. We also haven’t seen each other for almost six months.
We talked about the food that will be served and reminded her of those that I terribly missed. I also asked her about the other guests she invited, especially from those coming from our group. She assured me that some of our batch mates and mutual friends will be there. The motif will be cowboys/ cowgirls and she reminded me to come in my equestrian clothing. I certainly do not have one but it is a good thing that we are informed about it this early to give us time to scour the malls for costumes. This party (among others) is one of the many things that get me so excited about Christmas. I can’t wait!

Gold Water Filter Developed by Indian Scientists
For centuries, people mainly buy gold bullion to preserve their wealth and purchasing power. But these days, precious metals like gold and silver are not only useful in the preservation of wealth. It can also be utilized to improve the lives of local communities. Four years ago, T. Pradeep and A. Sreekumaran Nair from the Indian Institute of Technology detected and filtered toxins like malathion, endosulfan and chlorpyrifos pesticides from water using gold and silver nanoparticles. These scientists have patented the technology though they could waive the royalty for filters to be designed for villages where contamination of pesticides and insecticides contaminating drinking water is prevalent.

It’s a Monday!
Happy Monday to y’all! Most often, I feel like Monday is my real day off after a busy weekend. Today is not different because I spent the morning catching up with sleep. Yesterday, I took a very long nap and because of that I found it difficult to sleep at night. I spent my time reading instead.
Last Saturday, we bought some new books and it’s high time that I finish the old one so I can start on my new purchases. Hopefully, this week’s load will be lighter so I can find time to read them.
Anyway, here’s to a great and blessed week!

New Scopes?
We’re going on a trip next month and I can’t hardly wait. When I mentioned to our daughter that we will be hitting the beach, she got overly excited since she has a new two piece swim wear from ON that she has not worn yet. She also requested for new scopes, she said, so that she can have a good view of the vast ocean and the islands. I do not know where she got that idea. From watching too much cartoons, perhaps? Oh, she never fails to amaze, impress and amuse me. She really is one smart girl and my big bundle of joy!
Black Friday Shopping Started Early
According to Wikipedia, Black Friday is:
is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. The term dates back to at least 1966, although its usage was primarily on the East coast. The term has become more common in other parts of the country since 2000. Because Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday occurs between the 23rd and the 29th of November.
One of our friends has started informing us about the ongoing Black Friday sales at the different stores in the US. And since the Husband has been insisting on getting me a new laptop I asked a friend to find me a netbook. My current laptop is still working but I have been having some battery problems with it. We were at the mall two weeks ago where I saw some acer desktops which were on sale but the Husband thinks mobility is important. Anyway, after thorough searching and consultations, I finally decided to go for that purple Acer netbook. Yes, it is purple (though red was my initial preference). My mom asked me to buy one for her too since she finds her laptop too heavy to lug around.
Sweet Treats
The Husband arrived from an official business trip last night and along with two kilos of lechon (suckling pig), he also brought me these sweet treats:
Coffee bars and oat cookies from my favorite cafe. There is also a box of butterscotch bars but I failed to take a photo. The coffee bars, three boxes of them, were from two of my closest friends back at my first home. I caught them online and we talked about how life has been, their work, my work, our kids, health and effort to loose weight. I even learned that one common friend of ours have trimmed down too because she discovered the diet pill that works. Anyway, I informed them that the Husband would be staying there overnight and they were so kind enough to send me these goodies. The oat cookies and butterscotch on the other hand, were treats from the thoughtful Husband.
Since I am on a diet and to make sure that these treats last longer, especially the coffee bars, my friend advised me to eat just one bar a day. I had to disagree since that would not make me happy! Hahaha!

Houston Asbestos Lawyer
Did you know that prolonged exposure to asbestos lead to Mesothelioma? A research even suggests that merely washing the clothes of someone who worked with asbestos can put a person at risk for developing mesothelioma. It is a rare and terrible form of cancer and like other diseases, it causes devastation and discomfort not only to the patient but to his entire family as well. This is why some have sought the aid of a Houston asbestos lawyer to file a claim. Though there is no cure for mesothelioma but the settlement is an absolute must for the damages caused by it.

Bed Weather
Today, may Yahoo! Messenger status says “Bed Weather”. Two of my friends asked why and I explained that the weather here in our city is cold and gloomy, just perfect for lying down on our big bed and sleep. But as much as I wanted to do just that, I did not. I had plenty of tasks to accomplish and errands to run. I also tried being a good girl by squeezing in some exercise time in my busy schedule. But honestly, skipping exercise due to the weather did cross my mind! But I am aware that exercising is the best fat burner so I just did what I need to do!
And now, since it’s almost my bed time, I can finally enjoy my bed weather. I will just do some reading and I am off to la-la land. Good night to you!
Thursday Thunks: I Told You I'd Post It!
Turn the tv on and open the newspaper.... What’s the best reported news you've ever heard? So sorry, I rarely watch TV nor read the papers.
Hey! Guess what? What’s the best personal news someone has told you? That they are expecting. That is always a good news!
Goshdarnit I'm tired... When you lay down to sleep at night, what’s the best position for you to fall asleep in? On my side.
What the most excited you've ever been? Very, very excited. LOL!
Ever touched a turkey? And yeah, I mean the gobble gobble kind. I'm glad I re-read this or this could have been a stupid question. Have you ever touched a living, breathing, not on your plate turkey? Yeah, when I was young.
Its everywhere, it's driving me crazy! Spend money, people, spend money! Have you boughten anything from the "new & early" Black Friday deals this year? I am thinking of buying a new netbook. ;)
So the news is out, the most best news ever in the history of news - Kimber & Berleen are finally going to meet! Kimber is flying to Minnesota. What should she bring with her?
Kimber thinks all Minnesotans eat lutefisk. It's a Scandinavian food and lucky for her, we're German. Maybe it's Norwegian. Heck I don't know - you ever ate the stuff? Hmmm… Nope. But I am happy that Kimber and Berleen will finally meet!
What’s in your right pocket right now? None.
When you go to the dentist for your cleaning, do you use the toothbrush that they give you or do you use one that you have purchased yourself? The one that I purchased myself.
Unique Restaurant Table Ideas
Another thing that is nice about the said restaurant is the lack of table cloth to cover their restaurant table tops. Instead, they made use of a huge white paper and provided us with some crayons for doodling or what-have-yous while waiting for our orders. I made use of the materials to write our birthday greetings for the celebrant. It was a perfect when we took photos of the cakes. Take a look:
I certainly like this ingenious idea that the management thought of when it comes to their restaurant tables. And speaking of restaurant tables, RestaurantSeatingDirect.com is the best place to shop for quality restaurant furniture. Whether you are looking for a contemporary or retro styled restaurant table, chairs, bar stools and others, you will surely find one that fits your budget and taste at RestaurantSeatingDirect.com.

Wednesday Happy Thoughts on a Wednesday!
It’s a Wednesday and for a change, I am on time for this week’s Happy Thoughts. Here we go:
1. The super fun day spent with some of my best friends yesterday. We celebrated Ate Jen’s birthday at Greenhills. Fun, fun times plus good eats! Happy birthday Ate Jen! Nice meeting you, Ate Race!
2. The Husband who exerted extra effort just to accompany me yesterday. Our time together is limited because of his work so him, taking extra time and effort to be with me is always, always appreciated.
3. Badong and Kaje who picked us up from the terminal and brought us back there when it was time to go home. It surely was sooo nice of you two to do that. Thank you!
4. The hassle-free commute fro and to our place.
5. The gifts from Ate Jen and Kaje. Thanks ladies!
6. The very good deal that we were able to enjoy when Ate Jen and I were buying some gift items.
7. Hearing Abi speak! She is such a cutie patootie! Makes me want to have another girl again!
8. My super not-so-secret mommy Santa who sent her generous gift early this evening. It certainly overwhelmed me! And her kind act encouraged our other friends to give too! What I wished for is something to help some indigenous school children in Mindanao. My prayer is that they will reap what they sow which are generosity, kindness and love. :)
Happy Wednesday y’all!

Gold’s Role in Space Exploration
Gold has been a vital material when it comes to mankind’s space exploration. It is an effective heat-reflector and infra-red radiation, reasons why gold has been used in to various NASA undertakings. Gold-coated plastic film is used to wrap around parts of the equipment which are exposed to a steady stream of intense heat and static-generating solar radiation. Moreover, the layer of gold on the helmets of astronauts let them work in space safe from the lethal effects of this radiation.
Did you know that the Hubble telescope which cost $1.5 billion is protected by gold coatings? Also, around 41 kilograms of gold was used in constructing the US Columbia space shuttle. Because of its reliability, gold plays an important role when it comes to space exploration.
When it comes to precious metals investment, the company you are going to entrust your investment should also be reliable and dependable. If you want to Invest in gold, seek for a company that provides competitive prices and at the same time proven to be trusted by many investors. One such company is the US Gold Bureau, the trusted gold authority. Visit their website now for more information regarding precious metals investment.
DIY Gifts. NOT!
Christmas is just around the corner and many of my friends are done shopping for their gifts. On the other hand, I still have to work on my list! I initially thought of some DIY personalized gifts but I do not have enough time nor mojo to do them. We even run out of ink and I still need to find a reliable computer ink/ xerox toner refill store here. I have no supplies either. So, I have finally decided to just drop by the malls and buy my gifts there. No more pressure and I have saved myself from too much worrying. And my recipients will be receiving nice presents, instead of my so-so DIY gifts. ;)

Do not wait until it is too late!
Life is too short for resentment, anger, hatred and envy. Besides, keeping and nurturing ill feelings can take toll on your health and well-being.
Feel happy inside and out.
Be kind. Be generous. Be loving.
And do not forget to tell the people you love that you love them.

Web Hosting
I have been blogging for more than five years now and I am happy to share that it has been a great way for me to do something what I really like since I was young and that is to write. When I started blogging, I began with a digital scrapbooking blog. It hosted for free. Later on, a friend of mine introduced me to paid blogging and that’s the time that I started buying additional domains. Paid blogging has not only allowed me to do what I really like but it also allows me to earn from it on the side. For years now, I have been maintaining three blogs and just this year, when I became a full-time blogger, I added three more to my list. The most recent one, I had hosted by a friend.
Since I have intentions of adding more blogs, one of the things that I wish to do very soon is to host them myself. I have been reading some web hosting reviews for quite a while now and I feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of web hosting companies that I found. Like all other blog owners, I only want the best web hosting for my blogs that is why I read, search and ask friends for recommendations before investing. I need to know which plan is best for my needs and budget. From what I have read on a web hosting hub, web hosting has grown leaps and bounds over the last decade. That is why it is necessary for someone like me to be aware of the services that I require, scrutinize and review the web hosts that I am considering. Knowing my particular needs will greatly help me in coming up with a decision since there are many web hosts out there that charges higher than the average price due to the vast assortment of extra features which I might not really need.

New Scrapbook Magazines and Books!
Last week, one acquaintance of mine posted her old scrapbooking magazines and books. It has been a long time since I shopped for scrapbooking books and magazines so I was too happy to find many issues and covers which I have not read yet. Moreover, her prices are very affordable. I cannot count the items I marked as “Reserved!” and it is enough to say that I have lost track of the cost that I had to pay for the items and the shipping. I was actually surprised when I received my final billing, including the shipping fee. With the number of books and magazines that I reserved, it is no wonder that the items weigh a lot, thus incurring a huge amount of shipping fee. Since it is a spur-of-the-moment type of spending, it is not included in our monthly budget. It is a good thing that help came in the form of quick loans. Applying is very fast and easy. When my application was approved, I was able to receive my funds within 24 hours. So as soon as I received the funds, I paid my friend with the amount that I owed her. The following day, I received 3 packages, all containing my books and magazines! I can’t tell you how excited I am to go over them! I certainly need the inspirations and tips to jumpstart my creativity again. What I need to do now is to find time to read them and do the actual scrapbooking.

Gold Leaf Covered Lounge
People who buy gold usually make use of it as an investment. But these days, people have found many ways to use this commodity. For instance, first class passengers of the British Airways enjoy a relaxing stay at its Galleries First Lounge, a bar that is decorated with glittering gold leaf and lit by Swarovski crystal chandelier. This luxurious place has a coffee and deli house, viewing area with terrace, work and entertainment zone plus a kids’ area. Other perks which First and Gold Executive Club members may enjoy include reclining seats on flights, massages and chance to dine on afternoon tea while in the air.
Toy Story 3 Toy Caravan
My family and I were able to catch Toy Story 3 on the big screen when it was shown some months back. We all enjoyed it and many of my friends and their families had fun watching it too. It is one nice movie and I like how it ended. It is one of those movies that I want to watch over and over again. Just this week, I learned that Toy Story 3 is now available on blu ray and DVD. A Toy Caravan will take place to highlight this launching at the following venues and dates:
-
SM Sta. Rosa October 30-31, 2010
-
SM Mall of Asia November 6-7, 2010
-
SM Megamall November 13-14, 2010
-
SM The Block November 27-28, 2010

Weekend Shopping
We were at the malls for three consecutive days last week since my mom was here for a short visit and it was in time for the mall sales which usually motivate my Husband to shop. He was so happy to find a nice pair of office shoes at a very discounted price. (That’s my husband!) My mom also bought some dresses and a pair of sandals for my daughter plus some books and toys. And for her self, my mom certainly bought a lot of stuff! I can’t even remember nor count all of them but one major item was a pair of expensive shoes. Hahaha! We also went to the hardware stores to shop for bidet and that’s where I saw some nice Kohler kitchen sinks that made me wish for my very own kitchen. *sigh* But I was able to score some nice dresses, lingerie and a pair of shoes that made me forget everything about the kitchen. Hahaha!

Timely Help
Early this week, we receive another good offer and this time, it is for a laptop unit. My husband thinks that I badly need a replacement since the one that I have been using is already six years old and has been having battery issues. However, fund transfer takes about four days and the laptop sale does not last long. My friend suggested that we try a payday loan because application only takes some minutes and when approved, fund transfer is done within twenty- four hours. Furthermore, this type of loan is very helpful for other unexpected spending like our purchase. This is also good too for paying bills on time when payday is still a week away.
I did a search and based on what I read at Pacific Advance, applying for a payday loan is indeed as easy as 1-2-3. First step is to apply online or by calling their number indicated in the website. Next is to submit the application and lastly, wait for a call from a Pacific Advance customer care representative for verifications.
Applications for up to $2,500 can also be pre-approved provided the applicant:
- Has a steady recurring income or currently employed.
- Has a bank or credit union account with name preprinted on the checks. Savings accounts are also accepted.
- At least 18 years old.
- Has a gross income of at least $1,000 monthly or a minimum of $800 per month in Social Security, etc.
- Not a resident of Georgia (since loans are not available in this state)
Digital Scrapbooking Day Shopping
One of the crafty things that I like doing is digital scrapbooking. I enjoy it because it lets me record our memories in a creative manner. I also enjoy the process of taking photos and shopping for nice digital kits to use. This weekend marks the Digital Scrapbooking Day (DSD), a day for all of us digital scrapbookers. Most often, shops celebrate this event with challenges, giveaways and yes, store sales.
I can’t tell you how excited I am and my friends about this event. In fact, we have noted which favorite stores and designers are holding sales as early as yesterday. Some are looking for items that can be used commercially while others are in search of calendars for their Christmas gifts. As for me, I would like to find templates to help me jumpstart my pages as well as word art and other embellishments for themed albums. Certainly, my choices are unlimited! However, my budget is not! We just spent a big amount for our clothes and shoes last weekend that I certainly forgot to allot some budget for my DSD shopping. I actually forgot that DSD is happening this weekend! I relayed this to a friend and she suggested that I try applying for a cash advance since the amount that I will be needing is very minimal. This type of loan is perfect for my need too because application is fast and when approved, transfer of funds is done within 24 hours. All I need to do now is find a reputable company and start processing my loan just in time for my DSD shopping this weekend. Wish me luck!

Zenni’s New Site
“Check out Zenni's New Site!” That was one of the messages that greeted me this morning when I opened my YM account. It was from a friend who recently bought a new pair of
ZenniOptical $6.95 Rx Glasses since her old pair of prescription glasses gave up on her last week. I did visit the number one prescription eyeglasses shop and was impressed with how easy it is to shop there. Furthermore, I learned that Zenni now has the best tryon: Frame Fit. It was the choice of my friend and I can see now that she is one happy camper, thanks to Zenni Optical!
