Tips to Motivate Yourself To Exercise

Monday, January 30, 2012

How to motivate yourself to exercise:

SHOP. It is never exciting to see yourself with a ratty old sweats and a baggy shirt. Find yourself a good looking exercise outfit. Buying something with the right color and cut will take off pounds and improve your self perception immediately. Just make sure you buy something which stretches so that it fits while you are losing weight.

FIND A FRIEND. Sign up together with a friend who also wants to get into shape. It doesn’t have to be going to the gym. Jog, run, swim or just walk your dogs together. It is tougher to slack if someone is counting on you to show up. You can even talk via online video conferencing to update each other if one of you is on a trip.

MIX IT UP. Your exercise routine, if you have been doing it for quite some time can be boring. Try mixing them up and switch routines periodically. It will make exercising more fun for you.

FIND AN OLD PHOTO. Post an old photo when you were at your best shape. Use it as an inspiration and a visual reminder that you have a goal to reach.

DO MORNINGS. Morning exercises invigorates and a good way to start your day. It makes you feel good about yourself too because you know that you did something good at the beginning of the day.

Controlling Your Cravings

How to control your cravings

Eat small meals all throughout the day. Slight growling of your stomach can sometimes be a good excuse for you to indulge. However, if you keep your stomach full by eating small amount of food all throught out the day, it is less likely for you to crave.

Keep yourself distracted. If you feel a craving, do something that you have been meaning to accomplish like responding to an email or reading a blog. It has been a proven fact that visual distractions are very effective when it comes to fighting thoughts of food.

Have a mantra. Try “I will not eat this ____.” Repeat the mantra at least three times until it becomes true to you. If you declare your intentions verbally, it increases your will power. And it is the best backup you need to keep your cravings at bay.

Go and lightly indulge. The more you deny yourself of your cravings, the more you will want them. However, you should keep it brief. Limit your indulgences in to a few bites just to savor the flavor and texture.

Financial Problems? Here's The Solution

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Many people find themselves in a financial jam these days. With the closing of businesses as well as governments tightening their belts across the country, you could easily find yourself without the money for your bills and other financial obligations. You do have options to get the funds you need to keep the lifestyle you have been used to, though. This is in spite of any credit issue you might have experienced in the past. Bad credit cash loans are a great option if you are one of the many who find themselves in need of money but unfortunately lack a stellar credit rating.

Credit Rating Ups and Downs

Bad Credit Is Not a Problem
Bad credit cash loans were developed to specifically meet the needs of those people who have a few bumps and blemishes on their credit reports. There are no credit checks to be concerned with when it comes to these loans.

Easy To Apply
Unlike a more traditional loan, you don’t need to fill out a long and complicated application form. Your financial records will not be examined to determine your eligibility for bad credit loans. You only need a current paycheck stub and your photo identification to apply for this type of loan.

Quick Answer
More traditional avenues of funding often mean that you will not receive an answer to your application for days, or even weeks. Due to their streamlined process, companies that give bad credit cash loans are typically able to give you an answer to your application within a few minutes while you wait.

Money Almost Instantly
Once you are approved for a loan of this type, you are handed the money right there on the spot. There is no more waiting for a check to arrive in the mail, and there’s no need to make a special trip to find a place to cash that check. The funds will be transferred to your bank account as soon as your loan is approved.

Easy Repayment
In many cases, bad credit cash loans can be repaid within about 30 days. Unlike some other types of loans, however, you can extend the repayment deadline in order to suit your circumstances. This allows you to meet all of your financial obligations without any hassle.

Something New

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Last Monday, we finally gave in and bought ourselves a brand new LED TV, along with a DVD player. The TV has been a nifty thing not only to watch news and some of my favorite series but also as a computer monitor.

Everything in my old and gigantic laptop is working well except for its power source and the monitor. I have been using my teeny-weeny netbook for work, some layout and net-surfing. Between the two monitors, I prefer the bigger one, of course. The netbook is lighter, yes, but I find it hard to work on layouts and seeing details with its very small monitor. Thus, it is a big relief to use my laptop again and this time, with a 19” monitor. Next project is a decent table so I can work comfortable with a big laptop and a big, separate monitor.

Living Close to Nature

Living Close to NatureYou may be trying to change your lifestyle in order to live a bit closer to nature and consequently playing a role in conserving natural resources. This may not mean pitching a tent in the outer regions and going off the grid. It may mean just making a few simple changes.

How do you go about living close to nature and playing a role in conserving the world around us? Whether living in Seattle condominiums, Denver apartments or rural ranches, there are many things that all of us can do to help preserve our natural world. Conserving Oil
Conserving oil and gasoline is perhaps one of the best ways to conserve our natural resources. There are a few very simple things that you can do to your automobile that will help conserve oil.

If possible, purchase a hybrid vehicle. These environmentally-friendly cars don’t use as much oil and gasoline as a traditional auto. This will help reduce amount of natural resources it takes to meet your transportation needs.

Make sure you follow a regular maintenance program for your car. Use a mechanic you trust to help you maintain your vehicle. Make sure you keep your coolants, oil and other fluids at their optimum levels. This will help you avoid any unnecessary repairs.

Use motor oils with low multi-grade ratings. There are several benefits you can expect of multi-grade oil. Because this type of oil reaches engine parts more quickly, it will reduce gasoline usage, as well as offer better engine protection.

Water Conservation
When watering your lawn and garden, use a little restraint; don’t over water. A sprinkler system is a very efficient way to save a lot of water. In addition, plant a garden full of plants that are native to your area. This way you won’t need to use a lot of water to make a garden grow that may not be able to survive without additional water resources.

Install water-efficient plumbing such as low-flush toilets and water-saving showerheads. These will actually restrict your water usage. Additionally, taking showers instead of baths will provide additional water savings.

Recycle
Recycling is one of the easiest ways to help conserve natural resources. Start recycling within both your home and office. In addition, try to purchase products made from recycled and reused materials and reuse products whenever possible.

As you can see, it’s easy to conserve resources, thus bringing you and your family a little closer to nature.

Did You Miss, Miss Me?

No? Hahaha!

I just remembered how I looove blogging. How I enjoy coming up with words and combining them together to create a decent sentence. And then gather all these sentences together to make up a coherent paragraph which in turn make up a (hopefully) good blog post. As you might have noticed, I rarely blog these past weeks. Aside from being busy with having fun during our vacation, I have just lost my mojo for blogging (and digiscrapping as well). However, with a lot little push from the husband (and tasks coming my way. Yay!), I am slowly and surely getting back in the blogging scene. And hopefully, it will take me a long time before I file another leave of absence. Haha!

You Buy Some, You Build Some

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

I am dabbling into a new hobby and I am pretty excited about it. It’s molding using polymer clay. I joined a workshop late last year and I am eternally grateful to my husband for letting me indulge. He has always been very supportive of me, that’s for sure. Anyway, as I have been researching and reading about the craft, I learned that there are lots of techniques and tips that I can try. Moreover, there are many supplies and tools out there that I can use to create unique and personalized things. Just last night, prior to sleeping, I spent some hours browsing online shops and ordering some tools. This morning, upon checking my email, I learned that one of my orders is already shipped! Yay! Got to admire the efficiency of that online seller but I will send my feedback and rate the store once I receive my item. I hope that the post offices that send and receive my package are good when it comes to material handling so that it will arrive in good condition.

This morning, I also visited the market for food. Upon going home, I chanced upon some shops that sell novelty items. I checked them out and went home with three items which I hope to use for my craft. That’s one thing about playing with clays. One has to be ingenious and resourceful to build her tools and supplies as the ones specifically made for the craft are really expensive.

My motto when it comes to supplies and tools for polymer clay molding? “You buy some and you build some.” Smile

Upload!

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

One of the things that I need to do this week is to choose from the multitude and upload photos of what my friend dubbed as my family’s version of Amazing Race. We went from place to place, one major island to another in the span of 13 days.  It was a different way of spending the holidays. We did not do anything extraordinary in our stops – we just met friends and enjoyed their company. We get to talk about a lot of things – family, causes that we support, travels, plans for the year, businesses and what-have-yous and one thing that I can remember though I hardly understand the topic was that breakfast when my husband and one of my old friends discussed automated clearing house. And all that I know about it is that it is US’s largest electronic payment system. That’s all. Hahaha!

Anyway, our friends have been bugging for the photos. I was into reunions too and I badly need to upload the photos so that those who were not able to make it can see what they missed. Hehehe!

Avoiding High Costs on Automobile Loans

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Automobile salespeople are trained to take any reasonable offer, and bartering for a better price is something many customers pride themselves on being able to do. However, making an error when obtaining the financing for the automobile purchase could negate any savings that were obtained through good negotiating.

Never Borrow Based on Monthly Payment

Some lenders may try to finance with information about what the monthly payment will be. For some buyers, this can seem appealing since they may know exactly what they can afford to pay each month. However, this method often will mask a high interest rate and other hidden costs associated with the loan. Negotiating each portion separately for a total loan amount, then calculating the monthly payment is much more beneficial.

Coming Prepared with Credit Information

Many banks or financers will look up a customer’s credit score and determine the loan that way, since even one or two credit points can raise or lower an interest rate. However, smart shoppers will come equipped with a credit report, so that they can compare the information with that which the lender has found. Any discrepancies should be resolved prior to purchasing the car. Another mistake is in taking a cash bonus or other similar incentive, and settling for a higher interest rate. Over the life of the loan, the cost of the additional payments toward interest will be substantially higher than any discount that the lender can offer.

Say No to Add-On Fees

Automobile dealerships can make a high profit on add-ons, such as carpet protection, extended warranties, and paint sealant. Financial experts emphasize a “just say no” approach to any of these added costs, since there is a high percentage of customers who will never even use the warranties that they purchased. Finding a warranty outside of the dealership will usually result in more benefits and lower costs, so avoid purchasing these at the time of the car purchase.

Do Your Homework First

clip_image004Image courtesy of Flickr

Coming into the dealership with some research under your belt is also a smart way to get a good price on a car. Knowing the manufacturer’s suggested retail price on the desired car is a good bargaining technique, and knowing the meaning behind each number that adds up to the total retail price will provide less confusion and stress when shopping around.

Skipping a Payment

When individuals are in a difficult financial situation, they may be tempted to skip a payment on their auto loan. However, this could result in a high fee on the next payment or can be detrimental to credit. Borrowing some money with payday installment loans can be the answer when faced with such an emergency.

Being Prepared Means Lower Costs

Car financing can seem overwhelming, especially when faced with a mountain of paperwork. However, coming in with some information and preparation can often result in a much lower monthly payment and will help alleviate the stress of automobile purchasing.

We have welcomed another year with so much hope for what lies ahead and gratitude for what we received in the past. 2011 is not the kindest year for some, especially those who lost everything that they had when some really nasty calamities hit them. But then, just being alive and being given the chance to start all over again is a gift. And I am with you in praying, hoping and working and praying harder for a blessed, meaningful and memorable year.

Cheers for a prosperous, exciting and rocking 2012!
